A different pace for a conversation that matters.
Making time for therapy can be challenging when your work, relationships, and caregiving responsibilities already fill the week. You may also prefer the familiarity of your own space or find that an office visit would add travel you cannot easily manage. Telehealth lets the conversation take place without that additional journey.
Therapeutic Pathways serves adults throughout Virginia, including Northern Virginia, Richmond, Roanoke, and Tidewater communities. Lorraine Richardson, LCSW, holds Virginia license #0904020838. All appointments are virtual; no Virginia office is advertised. Before care begins, the practice considers your physical location, privacy, and whether this format suits your needs.
Online therapy is still a personal conversation. You can bring a specific concern or simply the sense that the ways you have been coping are no longer enough. The work leaves room for pauses, questions, and the process of finding language for experiences you may usually keep to yourself.
The work, together
Understanding pressure, not just managing a schedule
For stressed professionals, the issue may not be the number of hours worked alone. Expectations, uncertainty, self-criticism, and difficulty letting go of unfinished tasks can all shape how pressure feels. Therapy can help you examine those patterns and consider practical changes that align with your priorities.
Caregivers may be balancing love, worry, and exhaustion while trying to stay available to everyone. Sessions can explore boundaries, guilt, communication, and the changes in identity that can come with a demanding care role. Your needs are part of the picture, not an interruption to it.
When grief is present, the conversation can hold both the emotional and practical effects of loss. You do not have to present it neatly or wait until you think it is acceptable to ask for help. Lorraine’s warm, nonjudgmental approach draws on mindfulness, CBT, and ACT, with attention to your history, culture, and relationships.

How can I prepare for a virtual appointment?
Choose a space where you can speak without being overheard and check that your device and internet connection can support a video visit. Share any access or privacy concerns during the consultation. If you plan to attend while outside Virginia, tell the practice beforehand; location and licensure need to be confirmed, including when you travel.
A free 15-minute phone consultation offers a low-pressure way to discuss what you need and ask about the next steps. Private-pay and out-of-network sessions are $200, with superbills available on request. Contact the practice about in-network insurance availability. Coverage is plan-specific, and reimbursement is not promised by the practice or the website.
